Rosalinda Mexican Cafe is a neighborhood restaurant in Denver owned by Mexican immigrannts who happen to be Mormon. It is a popular spot with great food and friendly people. It is also well known for its generous free meal donations at Thanksgiving (over 5,000 meals last year).
It's been very well rated on Yelp and has been well supported in the community.. until this week.
The owner explained that he was not interested in making the restaurant a campaign stump spot when Romney came a'calling. Within hours of that comment being made public, the restaurant's phones began to ring with death threats, and detractors began to post fraudulent negative Yelp posts about the restaurant.
According to the one of the owners, Oscar Aguirre:
?We have been getting hate emails from people across the country, people sending us death threats and people calling us telling us we are racist,? Aguirre wrote. ?That they hope we go out of businessSo many things to critique about the GOP hypocrisy here:
1) The people issuing death threats to the Mexican-born business owner are calling HIM racist
2) The people who claim they are the party of small business are actively rooting for a small business failure
3) The people who are always clamoring for small government that allows job creators to run their businesses "unshackled by the government" now want to punish a small businessman and his family for choosing to operate their business the way they see fit, without injecting politics into it
The GOP hypocrisy knows no bounds!
Let's show the haters that liberal generosity and respect also know no bounds. If you live in Denver (I don't), please consider supporting Mr. Aguirre and his family by stopping by their restaurant for a weekend bite!
